Staff of the Unclean

Description

This is the top piece of the staff of Torvald the Unclean.

Torvald came to me one eve and brought me three shinning gems, a magical egg perhaps thought to be of a Dragon or Gryphon and a long thin sapling.

The egg and crystals shimmered slightly in the light and had a slight opalescence and fire to them, strange magic here be present surely. On could see through the egg, and nothing apeared to be in it, but an egg nonetheless it must have been, although hard and solid as a rock.

The sapling apeared to be of some sacred ash or some other sort of wood, Torvald's wishes were clear, he wished me to craft him a great magical staff to help him in his travels.

Once again I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This was made in an evening with my friend {here refered to as his character Torvald, who took upon himself the title "The Unclean" as a joke.}

The items were some small glass gems which he brought me, and a large glass egg that glitters and looks absolutely amazing in the sun, it's not quit see through, and looks like a giant opal.

I have no idea where the sapling came from, he just brought me a tree which aparently he had cut down or found fallen in the woods.

This took several hours, and is perhaps my simplest staff.

There was a split in the back which cannot be seen in the picture, which I used to enlay a long copper chain down, and polished, looks very nice.

The egg is held in place not with glue but by slowly carving the staff untill it fit very snuggly into it, and won't come out unless you take it out.

Hey hey! Opalite glass! That one being the (magick egg) version, ass opposed to the 34789565634956 other little things made from it. You're entirely correct when you say it looks like a giant opal, that's exactly what it was designed for... to be a synthetic opal. (if you get it wet it shows the same brilliance in normal light as it would in the sun, and is even more spectacular in sunlight)

And the other stones look like Slocum Stone... synthetic aswell, with little tiny microscopically thin peices of metal foil to give it an opal look.

It's well put together and the orientation of the stones is perfect for it. Nicely done on getting that egg to fit snug, normally those ones are... how do i say it... Stubborn?
